🏃 About The Race
The Morecambe Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K offer a stunning coastal running experience along Morecambe Promenade, Heysham Village and the cliff paths overlooking the bay. Starting and finishing near Bare Methodist Church, runners enjoy a fully marked and marshalled course with support throughout.
The marathon completes two laps of the full route, while the half marathon covers one lap. The 10K follows the opening section of the course before finishing back at the start. This event is suitable for runners of all abilities and provides a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
With views across the bay, historic village sections, and a mix of flat prom running and gentle coastal climbs, this is a memorable autumn challenge. The marathon also offers a chance to achieve a Good For Age time for the 2027 London Marathon.

The Morecambe Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K take place on Sunday 20th September 2026, starting and finishing near Bare Methodist Church (LA4 6EF). All races begin at 11 AM.
The marathon and half marathon follow the same scenic coastal route along Morecambe Promenade, round Heysham Village and the cliff path, then back along the prom and up towards Bolton‑le‑Sands before returning to the start. The marathon completes two laps of this course.
The 10K runs alongside the other races for the first 6.2 miles and finishes back at the start point.
This event is fully marked and marshalled, with refreshments available on the course. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. The marathon is also a Good For Age qualification opportunity for the 2027 London Marathon.
