🏃 About The Race

The City of Preston 5 & 10 Mile Road Races offer runners a fast, flat course with genuine PB potential. The 5‑mile loop features long straight sections and a scenic lakeside stretch, all measured to UK Athletics championship standards. The 10‑mile event completes two laps of the same circuit, making it an ideal stepping‑stone for runners preparing for longer autumn races such as the Great North Run.

The race welcomes all abilities — from runners progressing beyond 5K to experienced athletes chasing a fast time. Every participant receives a bespoke medal, and water stations are provided both on the course and at the finish.

The event proudly partners with the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, who offer charity places for runners wishing to support their work. Volunteers are also encouraged to get involved, helping deliver a friendly and well‑supported race day.
